【門守】特注作品。お待ちいただき、誠にありがとうございました。

「新築のお家の玄関で出迎えてくれるずんぐりむっくりのこけしを」とのご注文をいただき、デザインや材はすべてお任せいただきました。

大切なお家と、そこに暮らすご家族を守る存在となる作品を制作したいと思い、厄除けの意味を持つとされる欅材を選び、胴には睨みを効かせた達磨を描きました。

この欅材は、木の博士・登米町森林組合（kitakami）の會津さんから「立派な欅ですね」とお墨付きをいただいた上質な材です。作品は7.7寸（約23cm）、重量は1.6kg。

ずっしりとした重量感があり、存在感の強い一体となりました。このような大切なご注文にこの欅材を使うことができて本当に良かったと思います。

新しいお家の玄関で、これから長くご家族を見守り、訪れる人々を出迎えてくれる存在となれば嬉しく思います。作品の制作を私にお任せいただき、心より感謝申し上げます。

【Guardian at the Gate】 Custom Kokeshi

Thank you very much for your patience and for waiting for this piece.

I received a commission for a chubby, rounded kokeshi that would greet visitors at the entrance of a newly built home. I was entrusted with complete freedom in choosing both the design and the wood.

Wanting to create a piece that would watch over and protect the home and the family who lives there, I chose zelkova wood, which is traditionally believed to have protective and evil-warding qualities. On the body, I painted a Daruma with a powerful, watchful gaze.

This zelkova is a high-quality piece of wood that received the approval of Aizu-san from Tome Town Forest Cooperative (kitakami), a true expert in wood, who praised it as “a magnificent piece of zelkova.”

The piece measures approximately 23 cm and weighs 1.6 kg. Its substantial weight gives it a solid, commanding presence.

I am truly glad that I was able to use this particular piece of zelkova for such an important commission.

I hope that, standing at the entrance of their new home, it will watch over the family for many years to come and warmly greet all who visit.
